About

Getting to know the folks at Clark’s Labrador Ranch!

Puppy Icon

Steve and I have been raising dogs all of our lives, although in 2016 we took this to a new level. We decided to embark upon a passion we both had for people and animals. We wanted to bring them together in a way not many do.

We began raising AKC Registered Labrador Retrievers. Starting with two, we have gown into our business over the years. We have been working hard to improve our knowledge and skills to raise some of the country's best labs available.

In January 2023 we became Licensed Kennel. We are located in Northeast Missouri just five miles west of the Mighty Mississippi River. Many of our puppies are now with avid hunters of waterfowl. Retrieving is a natural instinct which can be toned up and trained to perfection by a skillful hunter!

This is when we got Rok, our Fox Red English Stud. He proved to be such an English gentleman we were convinced English was the way we wanted to go. He was soon followed by my Lucy Lou! And that is what got us to where we are today!

We are now specializing in the Fox Red, Polar White, and Deep Chocolate English Labradors.

Then, in 2020, we decided we were in absolutely mesmerized by the English Labrador Retriever. They are structurally different than the American lab. They tend to be shorter, thicker stature, shorter nose, and a more otter like tail. English labs also tend to have the larger blocky style head. Most importantly is their calm and loving demeanor.

Why Choose Clarks Labrador Ranch?

The answer is easy! We do all the required testing and more to ensure the healthiest puppies available!
We have gone out of our way to find and breed some of the best genetics in the breed and we are always looking at what we can do to improve the Labrador Retriever Line.

  • First Class Care

All of our dogs have been examined and passed preliminaries (younger than 2 years of age) or finals (2 years of age and older dogs) radiographic hip and elbow screenings. This is to ensure your dogs will not be predisposed to hip and elbow dysplasia.

  • Research

We use Embark Labs to DNA profile all our dogs long before they are even old enough to breed. This ensures us we will know the dog is suitable for breeding and will not carry genetics that can cause such things as EIC ( Exercise Induced Collapse), PRA (progressive Retinal Atrophy), CNM (Centronuclear Myopathy), PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease), and that our puppies are D Locus Gene free (Dilute Gene).

  • Vaccines

We follow a very strict regiment of vaccinating and deworming our puppies that is approved by the state of Missouri for licensing. We go above that requirement by starting early with first Parvo vaccine at four weeks and repeating at five weeks to prevent any chance of your puppy getting Parvo. Parvo is a life threatening disease that puppies can easily fall victim to.

When our puppies leave our home we want you to tell everyone how happy, healthy, and well loved our puppies are!
